This Privacy Policy explains how BenchClock handles information when you use its website, Free Tracker, connected team features, spectator links, and support form.
Information we handle
Account and team information
Account sign-in is provided by Clerk. Clerk processes account identifiers and authentication information under its own terms and privacy practices. When you use connected team features, BenchClock may store team and player names, roster positions, statistics, match events, and team memberships.
Free Tracker information
The account-free tracker stores its roster, setup, and current match information in your browser’s localStorage on that device. Clearing the site’s browser data removes that local information. It is not synchronized to a BenchClock account.
Support messages
If you use the contact form, BenchClock stores the name, email address, subject, and message you provide so administrators can review and respond to your request. BenchClock also sends a copy to its support inbox using Resend, which processes the submission as an email delivery provider. If you choose to save a separate, verified support contact email address to your BenchClock account, BenchClock also stores that optional copy for support communication. You can remove that support contact copy without deleting your login account.
Technical information
Hosting, authentication, and security systems may process ordinary technical information such as IP addresses, device or browser details, request timestamps, and security or error logs. BenchClock does not currently implement billing.
How information is used
- Provide authentication, team management, match tracking, statistics, reports, and support.
- Apply role-scoped access for coaches, assistants, parents or family members, and administrators.
- Protect, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability and security of the service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Service.
Sharing and access
Connected data is available according to team roles and permissions. Coaches or authorized assistants can opt in to a spectator share link for a match. Anyone who receives a working spectator link may be able to view the read-only match information exposed by that link, so links should be shared carefully.
Information may also be processed by service providers needed to operate BenchClock, such as authentication and hosting providers, and may be disclosed when reasonably necessary for security, legal process, or protection of users and the service.
Children and athlete information
Team rosters may include information about child athletes. A coach, parent, guardian, or other authorized adult must have appropriate authority and consent before entering or sharing a child’s information. Do not use BenchClock to collect information from a child without the required adult authorization. Contact BenchClock if information was entered without authorization.
Choices, correction, and deletion
Authorized team members can manage information through the controls available to their role. Account deletion requests are handled with administrator assistance through the contact form. Deleting an account may not remove team match history that other authorized team members need as part of the team record; identifiers may instead be removed or access may be disconnected where appropriate. Some information may also be kept where reasonably necessary for security, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or backup integrity.
BenchClock does not promise a fixed retention period. Information is kept for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, subject to operational, legal, and security needs.
Security and changes
BenchClock uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. This policy may be updated as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version.
